Three are wearing antelope headdresses, and one is wearing a mountain sheep headdress. The dancer on the far left is facing right, while the other three face left. The bottom row consists of four dancers and two drummers. The dancer on the far left is facing left and is wearing a deer headdress. To his right are the two drummers. The dancer to the right of them is wearing a buffalo headdress and is facing right. The dancer to the right of him is a woman who is also facing right. The dancer on the far right is wearing a buffalo headdress and is facing right.

- Purchased by Jack and Maxine Zarrow from Wes Gan at Native American Art, Tulsa, OK, May 11, 1998. According to Mr. Gan, the artist sold this painting to Field's Fine Art, Tulsa, OK. Field's sold it to Bob Matheson, Tulsa, OK. From Mr. Matheson, the painting went to Ron Williams, Atlanta, GA. Mr. Wes Gan obtained it from Mr. Williams. On the dust cover: "From ARTIST: to Fields Fine Arts, Tulsa, OK to Bob Matheson, Tulsa, OK to Ron Williams, Atlanta, GA. 'Dancing Before The Hunt' circa: mid 1960's; ARTIST: Wolf Robe Hunt (Acoma) from Native American Art - Wes Gan.... Medium - tempera-casein on 300 lb. rag paper; conservation framed - acid free."
