Koshare clown and dancer
Description:
A painting of a Koshare, or kachina clown, as he approaches a ceremonial dancer. The clown is facing left, toward the dancer and is reaching toward him. The dancer is facing the viewer. The clown is painted with the traditional black-and-white stripes and he is wearing a traditional headdress. The dancer's upper body and lower legs are painted gray and he is wearing a traditional white handwoven embroidered kilt and a rain sash. He is holding a rattle in his right hand and some spruce branches in his left.
