A painting of a Pueblo dancer facing the viewer. He is wearing a buffalo headdress with six feathers attached to the back, and a handwoven kilt and belt. There are metal tinklers attached to the bottom of his kilt and four bells around his waist. He is holding a rattle in his right hand and a bow in his left. His right arm is held out across his body.

On a note attached with a photograph of the painting: "Blumenschein Estate; 'Buffalo Dancer'; Suna, Theodore, Snow; Cochiti Pueblo. Estate Ernest L. Blumenschein (1874-1960). Left to his daughter, Helen Blumenschein (1909 - 1989). Her estate left to cousin - Santa Fe resident. Hansen Gallery acquired the painting 1980."
