- A painting of a young Navajo boy sitting on a horse while the horse drinks from a small puddle of water. Both horse and rider are facing left. The boy is leaning back on his left arm and watching two birds in the sky. The horse is brown with a white mane and tail, and a long white blaze on his face that includes his nose and mouth. The horse also has four white socks. The bridle is simple and is made of rope while a blanket serves as the saddle.

On the dust cover: "Going South." In the auction catalog: "Portraying a Navajo boy watering his horse, titled 'Going south,' painted by deceased artist Robert Chee, circa 1960s."
