Purchased by Jack and Maxine Zarrow from Ralph Love, Temecula, CA, April 1980. The Zarrows had seen other "Smoke Trees" by Mr. Love and had requested he let them know when one was available. On the dust cover: "'The Golden Years' painted in Painted Canyon near Palm Springs, CA; by Ralph Love; 'Smoke Tree'; 36 X 30 oil."
