A painting of a Native American man in full ceremonial regalia riding a paint horse in the snow to the right. He is wearing a buffalo headdress with fully feathered trailers, bead-decorated buckskin clothing and fully beaded moccasins. He is holding the war bridle rein in his right hand along with a bead-decorated blanket. In his left hand, he is holding a fur-covered coup stick. The horse has feathers tied to both its forelock and its tail.

Provenance:
Purchased by Jack and Maxine Zarrow at Ruth's Turquoise, an art store in a strip shopping center, November 1, circa 1989. This painting was one of five or six by the Pahsetopah brothers, Paul and Loren, that the Zarrows purchased. The Zarrows gave two of these paintings to their children. On a piece of mat glued to the dust cover: "'Sioux War Chief' by Loren Pahsetopah Osage 80."
