Purchased by Jack and Maxine Zarrow from Brummett Echohawk, Tulsa, OK, June 19, 1996. This painting was one of nine by Brummett Echohawk purchased at the time. On the dust cover: "'Ruling His Sun, Pawnee Warrior' lived to be 105 years old. Fought in Battle of Massacre Canyon, Trenton, Nebraska 1872. This was last battle between Indian Nations - Pawnee vs. Sioux. Drawing black and white scratchboard 7" X 8 1/2" by 1955 Brummett Echohawk 19 June 1996."
